Question 2001 F250 Water Leak

I was wondering if any of you have experience / knowledge of the drainage route for water going down the windshield in the truck I have identiifed. I have a leak with water dripping on the cab side of the firewall which is causing a dead short and drains my battery within about 2 minutes.
I cannot locate the leak except to say that it is dripping under the dash against the drivers side panel between the driver door and the interior firewall.
This situation is really a pain and leaves me stranded in the winter. Thoughts?

Stranded is not good. How does the windshield rubber look? I don't know if water can get in to the cab from the cowl area or not.

We have a couple of members who have trucks of the same body style - hopefully one of them will have some ideas.

The windshield is the most likely source it seems to me. Is it the original? Or has it been replaced? Most replacements have a lifetime warranty on the seal if you can contact the installer. Otherwise, pulling the windshield and resealing is where I would start, by calling an auto glass installer.

While they have it out, ask them to inspect the metal seams around the cowling area to the extent they can get to.

I don't think any of that will be very expensive.

All-Star Glass replaced my windshield recently and did a very nice job.

Sounds like the windshield seal has failed. All-Star can pull the windshield and replace the seal for you. While they have the glass out you can check around that area to see if there's any other issues.

Check your heater core and hoses at the firewall to ensure they're not leaking. That usually gives off a coolant smell and soaks the carpet on the passenger side though.

When I was driving from NY to OC, right about Arkansas my windshield gasket started flappling violently. Come to find out it didn't like the 85 mph wind I was pushing over the last cheesy replacement, so I just lifted up as much as I could without causing further "damage" and glued it down with that handy tube of Permatex black you'll never find me without LOL. Taped in place with some electical tape. I took the tape off in Amarillo the next morning and it's been holding for the last 3 years no problem.
