Almost every single person on these forums would love that, but truth is,it wouldn't be the same 4.9 as we know it.It would most likely have less torque and more horsepower, and would definitely have a shorter life span. Not to mention that it would probably be smaller in size and completely computer controlled. It just wouldn't compare to the original.

I rented a place off a guy about 3 years ago, there were two trailers at the top of this deep rutted, 2 inches of mud when its wet drive about 150 feet long that was almost a 45 degree angle if you can imagine. I had just bought my 95 supercab f150 4x4 and the tires were completely bald, reminded ya of racing slicks...well my neighbor owned a 4wd blazer one of the chopped down models, he tried to get up the drive but would make it halfway, start spinning and then slide back on the ice under the 3 inches of snow...i put my baby in 4 LO and went straight up to my place, not one tire spinning..gotta love Ford's 4wd.

funny you mention that, i went wheelin 1 night with my buddy. mind you he had a 4wd lifted jeep wrangler with big tires on it, and i didnt get stuck. (he didnt either)
the only time i was "stuck" (if you can call it that) was at the scrapyard, in about atleast a foot of mud (embarrasing, whatever) and the worst part was all the workers were watchin me and didnt bother comin over with a skidsteer or payloader, etc to get me out. i got my self out by wigglin the rear of the truck and hittin the gas. only time ive come close to gettin "stuck"

they should deff bring back the I6. it would wreck these v8 trucks. but, like fordtruckman80 said, theyd try to make it a racecar motor. but how cool would it be to have a 500 ft lb I6 from the factory.

I know man.As much as I want it to come back,I want it to stay gone cause it would be a whole different motor and i'm pretty sure nothing would be the same besides the displacement. It's still a good dream though lol.

The only thing is,today's engine market is more about horses,so it'd be more like a 500 Horsepower I6 with maybe if we're lucky 250 ft lbs.I like my 310 ft lbs more.lol.

Feh, I have seen 4x4 furds get stuck in 1/4" of mud on level ground, and seen a chubby caprice drive right on by in the exact same mud. Sometimes its the vehicle, other times its the driver, other times its luck. It is amazing what tire pressure, weight distribution, and a good driver will do for a truck.

I agree with masterbeavis 1000%.

Maybe its not the truck they're driving. Maybe its just the driver. Tell your Chevy buddies, or not, to learn to drive and they'll be fine.

I own a F-350 which I love and get around with fine, but before the Ford I drove the Chevy, that my dad owns now. I highly doubt that either truck could out-preform the other if it had the same driver and the same tires.

I bet the only difference between the trucks is the Chevy can out-run my F-350. Those small block 350's carry some power. Not so say my big block 460 doesn't have power. It just can't put out the speed that the chevy can.

But this is just one of those posts i'm doing cause i'm bored and its 12am. Sorry if I don't reply back.

I have owned mostly chevy's in my time and liked them. My f150 is my first 4x4. We've just had a huge dump of snow for this area and I'm super impressed at its capabilities. When it first snowed, I went out looking for deep snow because I wanted to see what my trucks limits were in the snow. To be honest, I haven't found it yet. This truck is amazing in the snow. I love this weather. A white Christmas and my amazing truck. I couldn't be happier.

I'm just itching to find someone stuck...
