Can anyone find other tires in this size? Tire rack has a poor selection anyway, and online tires only shows this size in BFG A/T. I'm wanting to run this size, but I hate how the BFG A/T performs in mud.

Brianj,

As far as i have been able to find, this is the only tire in this size and although i don't drive a lot in heavy heavy mud, i have never been stuck with these tires. They are the best all around tire on the market, hence the price, but if you just mud bogging, You need a mud terrain not an all terraine. Problem with the mud terrains is they are terrible in rain, snow and on the highway

Have you factored in dismount, remount, and balance? The reason I ask is the last time I upgraded tires (on my 06 F150), I went to my local Ford dealer's parts department... and after all the options above were figured in compared to online prices, and finding a garage to do it all..... they were only like $40 higher total (so $10 a tire). They also guaranteed balance and such. I had one tire come in that was defective (out of round), and the dealer simply brought in another the next day to finish the job. Imagine the fight with an e-company to get a new tire, in a fast manner.... FWIW.

ugh, yeah that is true. The dealer is $358 a tire plus mounting and balancing. The online is is $280 including delivery so im wondering if its worth the extra $320. That is a lot of extra money. Plus i need to buy the programmer to change the shift points.

yeah well we can't all get rich if we don't watch what we spend right? ... or something like that. I don't want the hassle of having to deal with an out of round tire either. That hassle may not be even worth it.

Does that figure of $320 factor in the dismount, remount, and balance? What size are you going from? On my 06 I went +1 (285 was the next full size up from whatever the FX4 standard was), and it went down the road just fine... you probably dont need to change any shift parameters.

That's why I was recommending Sams Club Rich. They were only charging about $10/tire for the mount/balance. I wouldn't trust them to do any other work, but tires are relatively easy (usually)

sucks the OP doesn't have one around

I've run atleast 4 different sets of mud terrains on different trucks, all daily drivers. They have all worked great in snow, rain, and pretty much everything else. They do make more noise though. I don't go "mud bogging" but I've been wheeling plenty of times with friend who have BFG A/T's, and when we hit any mud they just cake up and start spinning.
Just an observations, not trying to stray off topic too much.
Thanks for the response though, I kind of figured there wasn't much in this size. I'm halfway considering buying 17's anyway for cheaper tires. Should pay off by the second set I buy.

same boat here. I'm considering running a 20" rim with 35" tires. 35" tires on a 18" rim are expensive
