Yes, it is difficult to know what is really happening. I looked at an '84 Toyota Landcruiser - immaculate but not a diesel. He was asking $4000 3 months ago but it hasn't sold. I offered $1500. Same with a '76 F250 4X4 - a rusty mess. That guy wanted $2000 and I offered $250. It is still sitting there.
The older vehicles I've seen that sold, all went for lower prices I think...and whenever I sell a vehicle, I seem to only get a modest price.
