Hard cold starting - Is it the AIC?
Our 2001 V10 Ex has started to have intermittent cold start issues. Cranks fine and fast, just won't idle. It behaves like a cold blooded carburated rig that has a choke problem. You have to keep your foot on the gas and hold it up at 1500RPM or so until it warms up for a few minutes. Once warm, it idles normally and subsequent shutdown and restart when warm is normal. Drives normal, no other issues. Searching similar symptoms often reference the Air Idle Control valve, but rarely does anyone post up again after the AIC is suggested. I'm assuming if they don't post again that the AIC replacement worked. The part number I've found is CX1870. Is this the correct part?
