Beeping on occasion when shutting down
In my 94 150....every once in awhile when I happen to turn the ignition key/engine off slowly....at a certain point it will beep 5 times and repeat.
It keeps repeating but if I move key all the way off or even a little more, it will stop. I think it has happened maybe half a dozen times in the last year.
Anyone know...???
I have a owners manual for a 93 but I don't see anything about the beeping.

It's the airbag computer. It is beeping telling you there is a fault. There is a fault, between the seat and the igntion switch. Not being rude, stating a fact. When you don't turn the key all the way to off some circuits stay energized. The switched part of the air bag circuit is one. It loses the constant circuit somehow I'm pretty sure when that happens. I know it used to happen once in a while in my old van as well. It wold beep five times then pause, then beep five more times then pause and so on until I either turned the key on then back off, or fully off. It can also happen in the tumber is getting loose (worn). It won't return fully to off or on from start.

Hey pfogle...seat/ignition fault....that made me laugh..and it's been a long day. Thanks!
But I reckon you're right!
You know every once in awhile...you're yappin' to someone in the seat next to you and you just shut it off slowly cause you're not really payin' much attention to anything other than the fragrance she's wearing or the curve of her neck....then..beep, beep, beep...
And danr1...I know it's not the bulb, because every once and awhile I peel the tape back to see if it's still blinking.
Thanks guys!!!

Something told me that it would....
I also knew that someone would inevitably ask that question.
It is flashing 51.....has been since I bought it over a year ago
I am aware of that it is the thermal link fuse???(Its been awhile since I posted the code...but it is in the blue box under dash). I suspect that the 5-1 code was at one time preceded by a 3-2...but I'm not sure. Could have been a short anywhere I guess.
Might replace it one day to try and find out.....might not.
Now if they filled them airbags with Jiffy Pop.....that way I could snack while I wait for my tow.
I did just pick me up a 93 supercab for some parts and an engine to tinker with, but if I'm not mistaken, the airbags didn't come out until the 94 model year.

That's was my understanding. As I said, It really is not a big issue for me...I've made it through more than 40 some odd years without needing one..and hopefully I don't ever...
And besides...it's not like it's a real warning light.

Hey BC....yes the 3-2 code is the clock spring in the steering wheel.
What I meant was that the short might have been at the clockspring and eventually tripped the fuse therefore giving the new 5-1 code...I think I read that somewhere. As I stated though....I have only ever seen the 5-1 code since I have owned it.
Quicklook....It's not that I don't want to fix it. I would rather not have any little pieces of tape(although I trimmed it perfectly and it is really not noticeable).
Now I was under the impression...and I could be wrong(again, been awhile since I looked it up)....that the fuse wasn't really replaceable, although I think I remember seeing pics of the fuse.
Are you familiar with the procedure or do you know where I can find the info?....
I really have put alot of work into my truck and have slowly reversed the years of neglect that she endured.
I have not worried about the airbag light simply because it has no bearing on the proper operation of the truck.
(Maybe I should have it operational....since I haven't pulled the fuse for the rear ABS....borderline dangerous if you ask me...at least up here in the snow belt.).
I am the only one who hates the first generation rear abs on these trucks?
