Family trip to Tucson...activities???

My wife and I are heading to Tucson to visit my folks in Dec. We will be out there for 11 days about mid-month. We are looking for day trips to kill the time. (it's either that or my Pops and I will wear each other out) We enjoy outdoor activities especially OHV type activities. We are heading out to Imperial Dunes for 1 day at least and the Grand Canyon for another after a stop in Sedona overnight. We would need rentals for anything since we are leaving all the toys in NC. Any ideas are appreciated.

You could swing by Historic Prescott, the court house will be in full decoration for Christmas, Visitors - City of Prescott, Arizona
it is actually quicker driving from the valley to the canyon going through Prescott.
In Sedona and the Canyon helicopter rides are spectacular,
while in Sedona Tlaquepaque shopping Sedona Arizona, arts and crafts village, galleries, attractions. Sedona, Arizona, official tourism site of the Chamber of Commerce
while at the ditch defiantly go to the IMAX in Tusyan, Grand Canyon South Rim | Grand Canyon Info | National Geographic Visitor Center, Grand Canyon, Arizona Grand Canyon Hotels, Lodging and Tours - National Park Vacation Guide - thecanyon.com
the train ride from Williams to the canyon is cool but not much time at the ditch and you can't go to the IMAX.
Monument Valley is another beautiful site.
Jerome is a cool old mining town, (mostly satanic worshipers there now days!)
Kachner Caverns North of Tucson if you are into that. Arizona State Parks: Kartchner Caverns: Home

If you're looking for something to do that's cheap and doesn't involve going too far, check out the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson (if you like looking at old airplanes).
