Leveling kit install

I installed my Auto Springs Corp. 2.5" leveling kit today. I can confidently say it can be done in 1 hour. It takes longer to round up all the tools than to do the job.

EASY INSTALL

A few helpful suggestions for those installing a leveling kit.
*you do not need to remove the sway bar end links, it is possible to pull the lower A arm down far enough to get the coilover out.

*you do not need a impact. The lower a arm bolt can be easily removed with only a 18" breaker bar. Re tighten with 18"+24" cheater bar.

*apply thread locker to all fasteners you install or take apart. (safe thing to do)

*impact gun could speed process up to possibly being completed in 30 min.

*my truck does not appear to need a alignment, put tape measure on front and rear of tires measurements only 1/16" difference.

*the truck rides the same, just a little more altitiude, looks to sit maybe 1/4" low in the rear now, but that is the look i was after anyhow.

*watch the brake lines when pulling down on the lower a arm, the loom tabs will pop off, just snap back onto steel line.

The only issue I can forsee with this kit is maybe some premature wear of the CVs. The angle is a tad bit extreme. Mine will probably show more wear than the average user. I use 4x4 at leat 50-100 miles each weekend.

Overall great fit and finish. I like it alot. I will probably be able to squeeze on some 36x12.50 R17 Swamper TSL SXs with minor front bumper trimming.

For around $70 bux, it is a steal.

Will post pics soon.

Damn! Your good!

I took me and a mech. about two hours in a shop. We had to loosen the sway bar and everything to make it fit. Semi PITA.

Then we moved it over to the laser alignment rack and it definitely needed aligned.

Just my experience. Congrats on the install.

New truck goes easy. Heard it here before and tried the same process on my truck. Had to drop my sway bar links to get mine in at 35K. Guess he bushing start sticking. And because I had the whole truck up it was alot harder to remove and install the strut. Only do 1 side at a time now.

And you will need an alignment because you just shortened your linkage with the lift. If you thing it drives nice now wait til it is aligned. And they look sooo good level!!

I got a sawzall and i know how to use it.

Might just use 35x12.50 Swamper LTBs. New size that just came out for 17" rims. I have 17x9.75 rims so the tires I put on will sit a little lower than stated height.

if you're going to take a sawzall to an '08 F150, you need your head checked!!! drop a size in tires, it'd look great without damaging your truck!!

i just had BFG 305/65 18's put on my truck with the stock Lariat wheels. ( i have a 2" Autospring kit ) perfect fit, no rubbing at full lock and maybe a half inch of clearance to the upper ball joint. the truck actully looks like a truck now with a little meat on the tires, the stock Goodyear AT/S were so wimppy looking. and at 38K i was down to running on full stripes in the ceneters and edges. not down to the wear bars just a crappy design of a tire that half way through its thread you go from individual lugs to a stripe of rubber to run on. just in time too it snowed this weekend and the old skins sucked in the snow when they were new.

Nice. Looks real good with the 35" mts.

I found some Dunlop mud rovers for 195 per tire for 35x12.50s. Prob. what Im gonna switch to, keeping the 33s for when I am broke and cant afford another set of 35s.
