Help with 97' power window

My 1997 F150 with 40k has developed a slow window when putting it down. The dealer "adjusted and lubricated" it at 25k under warranty. Now its back and worse, I have to help it down on the front edge or the motor won't pull it down on it's own. Any ideas out there? You helped me out with a squeaky pitman arm and I lube it when I change oil now. Thanks from Minnesota.

Help with 97' power window

Hate to say it but the only way to find out what's wrong with it is to pull the door panel off.
it is the easiest of any vehicle I've ever owned(25
since I've been driving) gently pull the rear door
pillar off and do the same for the mirror int.trim
cover. behind these two pieces are plastic clips
that hold the corners of the panel down. push the
centers of these clips in then pull them out.(buy
some new ones if you don't want to search for the center pins) behind the door handle is a plug that
covers the handle mounting bolt,8 or 10 millimeter
undo this bolt and pull the handle out forwards.
the arm rest switch panel comes off by gently pulling straight up on the front then the back. The
electric switches pull out by pushing the tabs
on the sides of them. After this the door panel
comes off by pulling up on it. sorry for the detailed directions but I don't know your exp. with
this sort of work. reconnect the window switches
to the harness, then you can watch the window mechanism to see what is hanging up. After pulling
back the water shield,of course. The lock ****
is the only tough part about the reinstall of the
panel,it usually doesn't want to go back through
the hole in the panel easily, but it eventually will. Thats about it, Hope this helps some

Help with 97' power window

I would like to add one more thing to the last message. Once the door panel is off, take 2 wires, (neg & pos)with an inline fuse if possible and make contact with the contacts on the power window motor. If it works perfectly you will know the problem is somewhere in the wiring harness. Just had the same problem with a 95 montero. If not it is the motor.

I bet you it was one of the rollers in the window
mechanism. nearly every time I have to open a door
for this problem one of the nylon rollers has cracked in two pieces and doesn't want to slide
correctly in the track at the bottom of the window
,or worse it has fallen out of the track entirely
The worst one I have ever seen is the quarter windows on my 67 Stang, I tried to roll the window
down and it fell down into the quarter panel.
What a pain in the behind that one was,
