Gas Mileage ?

14.5~15mpg mixed driving to/from work empty in the back. I average closer to 14 when I'm hauling crap.
18 mpg tops on freeway averaging 70~75mph the entire 30gallon tank, empty in the back. I got about 17mpg on the same trip fully loaded with 4 people and the back full of crap.
My '05 FX4 screw is bone stock and I consider myself to be easy on the gas pedal. I only use Shell or Chevron gas.
36.5K on the truck now, and mileage has not gotten any better or worse the whole time, although mileage seems to have dropped <0.5mpg on the latest PCM flash earlier this year which made my shift points a little later and smoother.
I drive without my 90lb spare tire except on long out-of-town trips. That's less mass (and less gas needed) that has to be accelerated around all day. Does it dent mpg's? I doubt it's measurable, but the truck does feel a little lighter.

[troll] encourage all your neighbors and friends to take the bus, carpool, and buy/drive more Priuses and sub-micro-compacts. There'd be plenty o'cheap gas left for the rest of us gas hogs
Actually, it was nice when gas was $4.70+ around here. I could actually see over the horizon when I'm driving. Now the weekend SUV's are back out in force on weekdays.

I have an 07 5.4 4x4 with 3.73 gears, supercrew cab and 6.5 box
I have never calculated its in town mileage, rarely ever drive it in town, I take the car for that.
On the HWY if I am gentle it gets 18 MPG, driving a little quicker it gets 16 MPG....towing in hilly country I can get as bad as 8 MPG.

Driving style, hills, and elevation can cause widely varying gas mileage. Someone who lives at sea level, never climbs hills, and does 99% highway driving at 60 mph could probably get 22-23 mpg. Someone who lives at 6000 ft and drives over 10,000 ftmountain passes every day at 80 mph will probably get 8 mpg...
