2001 F150- Headlights flickering, now staying on?

My brother just called me and told me his F150's headlights started flickering this afternoon. He got home, shut off the truck and later with the truck off, the lights started flickering again and now stay on. The truck is off.

I told him to reset the computer, but other than that I'm not sure what to tell him.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Both or just one?

If both, there's probably a short in the headlight switch.

May be a problem in the multifuction switch. Good luck!

Does it have auto head lights? Could be a GEM module problem.

Could be an issue of water intrustion in the fusebox/Gem, but if that is the only concern he is having then first thing I would do if it has auto lamps, is to pull the plastic trim panel up from the passenger top side of the dash and unplug the auto lamp module and see if the headlamps go out. Does it have DRL?

It does have the auto headlights, he said it hasn't done it since he reset the computer.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

My 2001 is having the same problem except different lights (headlight, fog or parking lights) come on at different times of the night. The truck does have the auto light feature and I will try that first but how would I "reset the computer"? Disconnect the battery? Thanks in advance
