I did a tune-up on my truck the other night... and my old plugs were red. There was no deposits on them, but the "white" part thats in the clyinder was red. I've never seen this before, and searching google all I find is links to buy red spark plug wires... lol. Go figure.
So whats up? I've heard a long time ago its from using a lot of low quailty gas with a lot of additives....
I don't knw, so thats why I'm asking.
Thanks...
Jim
Side note, I did a complete tuneup with O2 sensor on my 88 f-150 with a 302efi. 2 wheel drive. I went from 9MPG to just under 17MPG. I'm liking it!
wow.... They looked good, except the color. the sparker thing in the middle (god i'm sounding like a newbie) was all there and really not warrnen at all.
ok, i was just wanting to make sure there was nothing wrong.

your referring to the center electrode? or the porcelain around it? or the little arm thingy that sticks off the side? hey guy just funnin!
well it is Saturday night and some of us might be drinking a few beverages
I remember back in the old days the electrodes would be red or grey-from the lead deposits in the gas!--hey i told ya it's old days!
lead.... hummm.... I did run some of the gas I had left over from my demo derby this year in the truck..... it was 110 and they told me it was unleaded. but another gas station that sells 110 has it marked as leaded....
