exhaust question...

probably been hashed out a million times before, but i'll ask opinions again...

looking at a magnaflow single side exit catback system, listened to some clips and i'm not impressed with the sound. while it sounds nice, i'd like a little more rumble...

so...

i thought of just doing a single side exit 3 inch, catback, no muffler, just get 3 inch pipe nicely bent to match the stock pipes sans muffler...... any performance Cons?? Cats will be staying of course, i'm thinking it should be fine...

comments??

You're good bro. No issues.

You could probaqbly get away with 2 1/2 inch though. I don't think these cats are very restrictive.

Just out of curiosity, why not dual rear exit?

I took mine out for a spin w/out any piping. Really no difference in decibel level with a high flow muffler or no muffler at all. In fact, I thought it sounded like butt.

Edit: Here is a clip of my Magnaflow set-up. Mine will sound a little different with the S/C but you get the idea.....

I've gotta single exit Magnaflow exhaust setup and I get comments from ppl at the red light asking what I have under there all the time

I doubt the fact that I have an echo tip makes all the difference but it could...

I threw mine out because I couldn't give it away 3 months ago. I put it on the curb and someone picked it up. You think it would be worth something or someone would have wanted it for how much they cost from the dealer. Mine was taken off at under 1000 miles and stored in the garage. It looked brand new, not even any carbon build up (tuned the truck right after I bought it new).

Ryan50hrl: I don't know if this will work??

I have 2006 F-150XLT SuperCab with Long bed. I'm thinking about putting on a catback Flowmaster Super 40 system, duals rear exit @ 45 deg near bumper coming off "Y" from cats and than duals out of Super 40 silencer. I was going to keep the stock system to sell or just in case I wanted it back but I am looking for performance and a good rumble...Im 21 so the interior probably won't annoy me as much quite yet lol...
Any recommendations for my system idea, anyone??
