How to Use High Idle Feature?

I bought a chip from Tony Wildman this summer and he put the high- idle feature on it for free. It's starting to get cold here and I was just wondering if there are any operating procedures to follow when using this position. It idles right around 1200 RPM if that helps, also I usually warm the truck up for about 5 mins. in the morning.

That sounds ok. Diesels warm up under load quicker that free revving. 3-5 min at high idle should be sufficient, then you can drive to your destination, takingit slowly for the first few miles. Hope this helps

I used to flip the EBPV valve closed and hit the hi-idle. It would warm up quick.
