Question BlazerBoy May become ExplorerBoy

Well, The Blazer is going to get parked & sold or traded. The only problem is it is only worth about $1600 or less wholesale.
I have had it with this truck. I have had an engine noise that I had reason to believe that I was facing replacing the engine. Well, today I jumped into it & started checking the common stuff, then I pulled out a stethoscope & I'm about 98% sure I have a main bearing making noise. I'm not putting anymore money in this Blazer. I have had to get humble & admit I got a REAL GOOD SCREWING on this truck. I have never bit the big one like I did on this one. It is paid for but I think I will put it up for sale on Ebay for $2500 & be honest about the engine noise.
Then I have to get Travis' permission to buy a Ford. It is hard to get a name change so I hope it can be done Travis.
Hey Mark does your company have a store in Reno or Sacramento? If it does would you PM me with the name of your company?
I was looking on Carmax in Sacramento they have some 04 Explorers XLT 4x4 in the $12,000 range with around 50K on them. So we thought we would see if there is any money left to finance a used Explorer 4x4. I have also looked at Rangers.
I know Carmax is like your company. Everything is out in front, & they check there cars pretty complete. If I remember correct Mark we talked about that at the Lynx Lake outing.
Anyway I would like yours & everyones ideas & advise. I don't trust myself after this last deal so I'll start by asking you guys what you think & advise.
Thanks,
Craig

I'm looking at about $3000 to fix the motor. My other thought was to buy an older Explorer I found a 97 XLT 4x4 with 100,000 miles, from a private owner for $2500 or best offer. I emailed him in Reno. See if it works better. Was my other thought. Bill, you have a good point. I will have to take it to Fallon or Reno to get it fixed. Chevy wants $2641 for a long black plus install around $1000 with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. I got quoted about $3000 to rebuild, around $1800 for another used motor & install.
