2007 F350-Trailer Fault alarm

I have an 2007 F-350 Diesel. I have both a 14' dump trailer and an 18' equipment trailer. Everything has worked great but recently have had issues with equipment trailer. Today while going on 480 miles round trip, everytime I hit the brakes the trailer fault alarm would come up. The brakes werent working but the led gauge would go up as pressure was increased on truck brakes(like always). Everything else worked(lights, blinkers, brake lights). I'm guessing a ground because it only does it while brake circuit is powered up.Two of my friends have used trailer in last couple of days and they both had issues(1999 F250 and 2005 F250) think it blew a fuse somewhere on the truck on the 1999 cause nothing works on the trailer for him now(or any trailer for that matter). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
James

I've had the same symptoms with my '06. In my case it was a broken brake ground
wire near the axle. Maybe a hot wire on yours is grounding out and blowing the "99s
fuse. Happy hunting.
