Best place for tires?

I need a new set of tires for "Solid Gold". I've been going into a few of the local tire shops but I'm getting sick of shops telling me that I don't want what I say I want. "No, we won't sell you tires like that. You won't like them." I'm looking for the place with the best prices and good selection where they won't preach at you for straying from OEM sizes.

fyi I'm upgrading to 31x10.5x15 all terrains. Thinking of Hankook z03 or General Grabber at2.

AT2's are supposed to be good, go to Tirerack.com they have a lot of ratings like this tireYokohama Geolandar A/T-S here is the General General Grabber AT 2

Now where you looking at a budget tire or can you get whatever you decide is good?Dunlop Radial Rover R/T

Could not find the Z03 anymore but the R03 is supposed to be a pretty good mud terrain.

You can tell you are at the coast, up here they go " you may have to get your speedometer adjusted/ get a lift/ get some fender flares sir"

The generals are very loud at highway speeds I have them on an 03 excursion.The 04 f350 in sig has bfg commercial traction ta and they are very quiet on the highway much more so than the yokohama at that came off it or the grabbers on the ex.Costco is the best place I've found for prices on tires.

I'm looking for a good looking, fairly aggressive a/t, an m/t is probably too much for my needs. I've had General Grabber performance tires and was impressed with them. I've researched the AT2's and like the look of them as well. I have a worn set of Hankook z03s of the truck and like the look. I've researched using TireRack. Has anyone here used 1010tires.ca? Their prices aren't bad but then you have to find a shop that will mount them at a reasonable price. How about Tire Rack? Has anyone here used them?

You are also close enough to the states, that you might want to do some research on prices in tire shops over in the US, and make a weekend trip down there and still save money.
On tires, my next set will probably be the new bfg, km2 mud terrains. They seem to be a nice tread pattern and I know the bfg's wear nicely. They were not out yet when I purchased in April, and nobody could say when they would be out. Lots and lots of choices, and it is hard to make the right choice for your driving needs, and you hear lots of different opinions on tires.
I have ordered shocks from an outfit in Edmonton, and know that they also carry tires. I was happy with their service and prices. You could try them for a quote.

wallz, that is the tire I am going to go to when I move from 31's to 33's. Got to get a set of gears first though.

I have the Geolander's on my truck. Dealer put them on when I bought it. Seem ok, although I would like something a little more aggressive but not a full out mud tire.

Abbysurrey tire (not sure of the correct spelling) has quite a few adds in the buy and sell online. I think they are around Chilliwack.

Yep, I know what you mean. I want to get new springs for the excursion, and also look into getting a locking rear diff.(maybe even gears as well)

I'm not too concerned about some highway noise. After more research I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get the General Grabber AT2's. The reviews on Tire rack and Discount are almost universally positive, and, like I've said before, I've had good luck with Generals before. I like that they rate well in the wet, and have the snowflake for extreme snow. Out the door cost at Discount tire in Bellingham will be $604.54US or $625.27CDN at yesterdays exchange rate. Hulluva lot better than the $918CDN quote from Tireland in Poco for BFG AT KO's. Want to support local but that's $300.

$300.00 is a fair chunk of change. That's almost a set of gauges.

$300 might be f350 front coils and a set of Monomax shocks...

Careful about bringing tires over the line... they have to be made in USA (or not say where they are made) or customs won't let you take them.

Unless you get them mounted on your truck down there and let the tire shop take the old rubber, then you should be alright at the border... if they don't ask, don't tell!
