Cool. Know anyone that would be in need of a 100 amp 6 volt generator for an old Ford? I was asking how many to try and see if any of the electrical from my 53 F-750 is sellable. I am stripping it and the thing only has 7200 on the clock.
Mine too is still 6 volt positive ground. I plan on leaving it that way and just finished replacing all the wiring in it. I'm running a 6 volt positive ground GM alternator on it.
Still running 6v on my 53 flathead too. Most of the time works well, but also keeps it interesting at times too. Also, learned some tricks from here and another forum, that makes for a more reliable system.
I'll be running it, on my '51 when I'm done - through all new wiring, though. I've contemplated changing over, and if I weren't going "stock" on everything else, I most probably would. But, the plan is 6V +G.
Years ago I used to have charging problems on my first 6volt +ground. Through necessity, I researched and learned about polarizing and adjusting the regulator's voltage and kick-in legs. Both of mine are very reliable. Jag
