F1 stock bench seat problem

I just received an old stock bench seat that I want to use in my 1951/52 F1. The bench seat came with its original frame. The frame appears to bolt down with 4 bolts (one in front, one in back for two each side). The problem though is that my cab floor appears to be set up for 6 bolts (two in front, one in rear on each side). The frame does mate up to the 4 holes, but there are the other two bolt holes I am curious about.

Am I missing something or is this the wrong seat? Am I missing another bracket?
Here is a shot of the frame on the stock seat.

There is a small brace that attaches to the floor and the seat frame (slider assembly ) on the front (each side ).It is to take the side to side rock out of the slider assembly . .

Thanks. That makes sense. I guess I will have to fabricate this brace from scratch. Does anyone have a picture of this brace that they can post? That would be very helpful!
Again thanks for the info!

I am not sure the brace is needed. I have a 49 that had the brace, but I had a late 50 that did not have the brace and no holes on the floor for it to bolt to like the 49 has. I never noticed a problem in the seat that didn't have it. I ended up with a ranger seat in the 49, so I can't say if there is a big difference.

Hey, that is extremely nice of you to take the pictures. You can email them to my home address if that will be more convenient than trying to post.

Again thank!

Firstrider - please post for all!! I'm not there yet, but would love to see them. I'm not sure how mine are in my late '51, but I have the two front holes and captive nuts in front, but can't get to my seat to see if I have the brackets or not - it's in the very back of the "pile", plus my truck was pretty well in pieces when I got it, everything just loosely bolted in, and a big bucket of bolts, brackets, springs, nuts, etc, etc...

Thanks,

R

I didn't know there was a brace on the stock seat bracket, so I welded some tubing from one side to the other. Hmmm.

Apparently, some have it, some don't. Mine didn't and I can't find a hole on the seat itself where it would have gone, although the hole and captured nut is in the floorboard.

My 50 F-1 has the seat with the two braces but only 5 holes in the floor with capture nuts. I had to drill a 6th hole for the second brace but the support is important to keep the seat base rigid so the seat adjustment mechanism works.

Thanks for all of the input and pictures. I at least now have a good sense of where to head!

Best Regards,
Fred
