I just got a new Mathews DXT bow and I'm itching to shoot something other than foam. BTW NC is doing away with bow season next year they're picking up the SC Idea full on gun assualt starting on september 13 next year. you all have the fine insurance companies to thank for this, thanks state farm!!!!!! I'd rather let them have it at 200 yrds vs throwing sticks at them at 30yrds. if I had known about the law change I would not have bought the new bow, so I'll have a damn nice bow forsale in november

Make any weapon an option on private lands only (not on game lands).
I know plenty of people who don't use a gun to hunt deer, even when they're allowed to. I DO like the proposal to make just one single 4-month season, however. 2nd Saturday of September through 1 January (Eastern season). More uniform.

my cousin is a game warden he also said that it wasn't yet but it would be. he said the insurance companies are realy throwing their wieght around on this one. I also spoke with Robin Hayes about a week ago at a party he also said that it was pretty much a done deal there just won't be any info on the subject until june 1st of next year.

You're 65lb up on me.......
Ain't nothing wrong with a small doe.....Does need to be taken out too---big time.
Didn't get one yesterday. At about 0830, saw a good-sized buck for about 30 seconds---unfortunately, he didn't hang around or go near the corn......Just stood for a few secs, then ambled off, and I could see him stop every now and then for about a minute......Not enough time for a shot with a bow.
Only a 4-pointer, but let me tell you, a BEAUTIFUL deer......Light-brown coat....Pure white belly.....Long in the shanks and well-formed....I'd guesstimate a 2 1/2 year old deer....Probably 120 to 130 lb.......Woulda been a nice one to harvest.
Saw a smaller doe about an hour later.....Same thing.....Didn't hang around........
I just don't think they were feeding---too damned hot. We got out there at oh-dark-thirty.....Stayed in the stand until 1100. Broke for lunch, and that's where I made the mistake. Based on the afternoon heat (the morning was tolerable), I shoulda just stayed in there past lunch and called it a day. The afternoon was just TOO hot....Musta lost a half-gallon of fluids.
With hunting, I LOVE the cold weather. Hell, anyone can bundle up.....But it's hard as hell to cool down in the heat.
