Hey guys, getting ready to buy tires just wondering if anybody is running or has heard about the mickey thompson Baja ATZ Radial 305/70R18. Any input will be appreciated thanks.
I wouldn't say they are horrible tires, but the BFG's are extremely popular. I personally think there are better A/T tires out there. Like the Michelin LTX M&S, or the Dueler Revo
The Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires seem to be good and get great reviews. They just cost a little more than the BFG's . They have a 520 rating, A & B as well .
Actually bfg a'ts are awesome, if you like being on the very edge of control at all times, and at any given moment could wreck your truck! IF thats what floats your boat, should have bought a chevy! They do that stock!

Not sure what your real issue is with the BFG's, as they are great for a lot of folks in a lot of different applications. I had the 20" rims with the Pirelli's/ The Pirelli's were great but I wanted a bit more aggressive AT. I looked at the BFG's, but opted for the P275/60-R20 Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors as they were a LOT less expensive in the size I needed, though they still cost $300-400 more than the Pirelli's. Thus far (< 1000 miles) they are doing well except for a slight vibration at ~70mph. Need to go back yo the dealer for a rebalance. Always loved my Michelin LTX M/S tires as well.
Well I bought the Mickey Thompson MTZ Radials they are 33/12.50/17 and love them. Im sure the ATZ are just as good too.
Thanks thats all I was asking. I know about all the other tires everyone has mentioned here but non of them have the size I want. (Not much to choose from on 18" rims) I thought about the MTZ but figured they were a little louder than I want very good looking tire tho, both of them.
Acctually Im really suprised that the MTZ actually arent that loud compared to most mud tires. I got them cause I liked the way they looked and figured they would look sweet on my truck and the noise thing didnt come to me till after I bought them. I have rode in trucks with bfg mud terrains and some other mud tires and these are quiet compared to them. Im not saying they dont have no noise cause they do but I cant really notice it unless the radio is off and the window down. Ya I know what your talking about with the 18. I just bought a set of 17 classic II mickey thompson rims. Got the set of rims and tires mounted and balanced shipped to my door in 3 days from a place in ohio for 1580. It was a few months back but it was still cheaper then going to my local places in michigan which they wanted 2000 for the same stuff. They wouldnt price match so I said screw them I will wait the 3 days
