Mini Spring pack leveling kits
#16
I'll second (or third or fourth, whatever reply this is haha!) the Icon (Donahoe) mini spring pack.
Straightforward to install, using stock shocks, etc.
Here's my .02 on installing them: Get the front of the truck up as high as is safely possible. Use two heavy duty jacks to lower the the axle down with. Before you go to lift the axle back up, check the diameter of the heads of the new centering pins. Mine were slightly too large for the stock holes on each side and required a little grinding to make fit. As you go to lift the axle back into place, it can be a $#%$ to get the pins to line up with the holes. I used about 4 "ratchet-straps", two on each side, to help pull and yank the axle around to get the pins and holes to line up.

I think the advice is to stay away from "no name" brands. There are some fairly inferior kits out there, in terms of quality of the materials. I don't think many people mind spending a few extra dollars on something that literally holds up the front of your truck.

Right now, I have 3" blocks on my front axle. I know this is idiotic, so don't start attacking me about it. That's why I'm getting a mini pack.
The reason I have Blocks is because I took shackles to a shop to be installed, they installed them, then found out they wouldn't work, so they convinced me to do blocks, and since they already charged me for the shackle installation (even though they were coming off) I just decided to get the blocks because I wanted my truck back. So I'm now going back and putting mini packs in. And I need 3" so I think I'm gunna go with a company called "proform fabrication". I found them on eBay, but they have a site and they're the ones who make the shackles I bought, so I know they're made with strong materials.

So you bought shackles from proform and they wouldnt work? And now your going back? Whos to say the blocks will fit? They couldnt get it right with the shackles.

If I'm not mistaken, the shackles don't work because my truck doesn't have the stock springs. I talked to my local lift expert (not the idiot who put the blocks on) and he understood that why the shackles didn't work, said I could live with the blocks as long as they're not aluminum, and said that proform's mini packs are legit. So I'm gunna go with the mini packs. I'll post on here what I think about them.
