Broken plug reimbursments?

Broken plug reimbursments?
So has anyone actually been able to get Frod (intentional) to pay for the labor to remove the broken plugs in the 5.4 3v yet?
I keep sending letters to the three addresses I have-it's been over a year since I had two plugs break. But they have stopped responding. I'm combing the internet for contact info for their engineering dept., hoping a sympathetic letter to someone new will turn up who I should be complaining to in the 1st place.

Yes, I made the dealership pay for it. They had to remove my motor to remove the plug. They initially wanted to charge me 2200.00 to remove the plug, and since they broke the plug off themselves, they really didn't have a choice. Although I just got my truck back a week ago and now I had to be towed home because of a transmission issue. Interesting considering it was running perfect before ford touched it.

I paid 450.00 for plugs and labor. I will have a hard time proving it, but after only one week of having the truck back it looks like my rear extension housing on my transmission is toast. I have serious grinding when in gear and it just does not want to move. These ****ty mechanics think they can put one over on me, but I will just do all the work myself from now on. And I am not saying all mechanics are dishonest, just 99.9% of them. I used to be an ASE Certified mechanic, but found more money in something else, so from now on I will invest in upgrading my tools and start doing all the work myself. I feel that I cannot trust a mechanic to be honest. In my case I believe it was a case of sabotage.

I think it's money well spent...I'd pony up 3 bills for for some long term insurance. Did you have them use the new one piece plugs available?

Just be sure that no matter what plug you get that you make sure that you change them every 30,000 or less. I know these are suppose to be 100,000 mile plugs, although the problem is that the plugs build up carbon deposits at the tip in the cylinder which therefore freezes them in place. Meanwhile up top you are cranking away on the plug and snap the only thing that is really holding them together, the Ceramic. What a ridiculous design.
The Dealer tried to scam me out of 2196.00 to pull the motor on my truck, and in the end I did not pay that. Since they broke the plug. I still paid 450.00 for labor and plugs which is also ridiculous. And on top of that I suspect that they also sabotaged my transmission, since they were not happy about me coming down to argue about them trying to make me pay 2196.00 for the repair they caused. I recieved the truck back and 4 days later the transmission had a catastrophic failure. The dealer says they did not remove the transmission, although when I looked under the vehicle the fuel line bracket above the transmission was not connected to the rear extension housing transmission bolt, and there is a giant greasy handprint on the side of the rear extension housing. I haven't opened up the rear extension housing , although I can see that it has been opened recently by the looks of the oil residue left behind from someone opening it. I am wondering if there would be legal action I could pursue. I do NOT want to return the vehicle for any repairs, in fact I am in the process of replacing the transmission with a new one, and I will do all the work myself. I may have a question or two for any of you transmission specialist and do appreciate any help that you can provide. I will start a new thread
