Question F-150 Crew Cab Strobe Install Help

Hey guys, whats up, I have a 2007 F-150 CC and a whelen 6 strobe 90 watt strobe kit system for the truck, just for kicks you know. I know I am going to need help on the install. I want to mount 4 strobes in the back 2 on each tail light, and 2 in the front, 1 on each headlight. I would like to know the best postion to mount the stobes, what to expect on the install and what problems you guys encountered during the install. Also where to mount the strobe power pack and how to run the cable from each strobe to the pack and then the pack to the battery. Also what type of drill bit should I use to make the hole in the lenses for the strobes. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Angelo Cosma

besides the legality issues, why?

not trying to be a downer, but most F-150's just don't look good with strobes/flashers.

Tend to agree, here in FL. we leave that stuff for the Puerto Ricans and their lowriders.

You guys really dont think they'd look good? There practically invisible when there off, and when their on its just a strobe light that construction and ems / police use. I just came back from an off road trip to Pismo Beach and all these guys with there F-Series had strobes in them, I think they look alright. Anyway to each his own I guess.

Yeah man, you're certainly free to dress up your truck as you like. It's just that most truck owners think big meats, more h.p., gears, and bull bars and off road lights. I personally would never consider strobe lights on mine, or any vehicle for that matter. But go for what you like.

I haven't put them on my 150 yet, but I would check with DPS/TXDOT in your state and make sure there are no issues with placing them in your headlights. In Texas you have to put them in the markers/turn signals. Here you can't change the headlights.

I live in OC and have them on my Lighting. they are really good attention getters. much better than hazards. I use them when I follow my buddy who is a professional cyclist when he rides through the canyons during his training. I had a buddy of mine install them who actually used to work at the PD and FD vehicle maintenance yard in Orange. i am sure one of those guys over there would either help you out or do it for you.

I think they look cool. A few of my friends have them. If your you are with the sheriff's department, why don't you ask some of your coworkers or whoever takes care of ya'lls cars.

I'm having a real problem drilling a 1 inch hole in my headlight since theres two layers I have to go through. Also I went to Home Depot and they said they don't make a 1 inch drill bit so now I'm not real sure how to make the hole.

use a step-up bit and you may need to use a drimel tool to make the 1st layer a little bigger, depending if you have the screw in type or gromet
