Hi to all New member from KCMO- Chrome trim

Found out about this site @ LMC Trucks the other day- I asked a question about chrome trim and was refered to the experts how own 1961-1966 Ford Truck.
My son and myself have a 66 F100LB, that we are working on- we were give a full set of chrome trim and does anyone out there know how to install the cowling trim pieces. I have been under the dash- in the fender wells and firewall and see no possible way to tighten the nuts???
Any assistance will be a great help

The cowl nuts are accessable through the triangular air vents on the kick panels. Remove them and this will give you access to install or remove the nuts on the trim.

And get a 1/4" drive ratchet with a deep well 3/8" socket and all will be golden....IF your truck has the FreshAir heater(2 ***** on lil black panel below dash that say heat and temp), you need to undo the flex boot and slide it off of the round plastic attaching ring...that ring extends into the cowl about 1 1/2" or so which gets in the arms way of contorting en route to the cowl area. There are 3 screws holding this on...the one in the back is the worst to get to as the screws like to embed into the plastic...screws as I recall are 5/16" once thats out, the arm will go up there lots easier...Ive done it several times on either side.
