HA ALL, WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE CAN HELP! WANT TO KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE TO DO TO CONVERT MY "48" F-6 FROM 6 VOLT SYSTEM TO 12 VOLT SYSTEM IN THE RESTORING OF MY TRUCK!

Hi,

Well, I will give ya just what quickly comes to mind. Of course the Alternator and regulator to begin with. All electric motors would need to be changed to include blower motor, Starter, and wiper motor. I think that all light bulbs would need to be 12 volt. Not sure what effect the ignition system would have with 12 volts. Coil? Also I am not sure how your gauges (fuel)would work either. Anyway, these are what come to mind.

6 volts to 12 volts system

A 6 volt starter will usually hold up to 12 volts for a long time. Do a search in the old truck forum(48-60). This question is asked up there once and awhile.
