I had mine in last week for the same issues on my 07 Lariat. They said it was in spec also. It's horrible in my opinion. $37,000 truck and the A/C sucks on it. My brother has on 05 Silverado that freezes you out any time of the day. I wish Ford would offer some sort of fix for it.

I used to be a Refrigeration Tech for Sacramento Coca~Cola, and heres my take on it.

The Heat from the Refrigeration boiling in the Evaporator needs to be removed some how. The fact that our Trucks don't get cold till we start driving, and then heat up in traffic, leads me to believe that our fans are NOT doing a good enough job in removing that heat.

How does some one fix that? Add a fan that will do the job. I have had my eye on a duel Electric fan for a while now. I have a feeling that this beast will get a few horse power back as well as cool REALLY soon, once you start the truck.

Well I wanted to bump it to the top. I an interested in seeing if anyone else is having problems with this. Because I am. I would like to know if anyone has installed electric fans and if it has helped.

If your hot water control valve is operating properly, the heater core SHOULD NOT get hot. My ac works great! It's a 100 & 90% humidity here today.
BTW 2005 F150 King Ranch Super Crew. E-fans will help tremendously.

Ride in my '72 with no air on 112 degree days, for a week straight, then you will feel a little better about you air (or lack of) conditioning. Fortunately I can take the '05 when I feel like it, and drive quite comfortably.
