Question About 6637 Air Filter Mod

Hey gang, I searched the several threads about the 6637 but couldn't find what I was after. I just completed the 6637 mod on my truck, but I don't know what to do with the sensor that was mounted to the stock airbox near the fender wall. Not the Change Filter Guage, but there is an electronic sensor that is mounted to the side of the stock box, that apparently measures airflow around the stock filter? Right now I just have it disconnected and the truck runs fine with no CEL. Do I need to reconnect this thing and mount it somewhere or just leave it off?

re conect it and tie it to a solid spot, it is inlet air temp. sensor, it allows for the computer to compensate for the air temp.

Would it be best to just tie it to the fender wall, or could I actually drill a hole in the end of the 6637 filter and fit it in there?

it does absolutly nothing for engine management. its sole purpose is exhaust back pressure valve control, you can leave it connected or disconnected, if unhooked you may get a code stored in the pcm but no check engine light, my suggestion is just leave it connected and you will see a square hole in the left fender near where the airbox used to be, it fits perfectly in the fender

Might want to go for the fender so you don't have to mess with it every time you change out the filter. If you do try to screw it to the filter you might want to use a screw that will be short so it wont go threw the filter and cause leaks. Don't use a nut and bolt because if things come loose you might wind up sucking a nut into the motor.

Good luck
