Propane conversion

can the 6.4 take a propane conversion? I saw it down on TRUCKS once.....

Propane can be used a supplemental fuel for added hp, but I don't think you could convert it to run entirely on propane. Don't know that I would run a propane kit with the 08 though, I would think the regen cycle could cause a problem when on the gas.

It can be added, the process is the same as the older diesels:

Might want to keep an eye on EGT's though


I use it on my diesel focus, with a ~30% propane/diesel ratio

Personaly i would not run propane. Propane is a fuel and it can cause detenation in a diesel if you are not very carefull. The computer controls when the injector fire, since propane is a fuel, you could have a early ignition event not controled by the computer which could cause engine damage. Just my .02
