Who knows about the 3.8l?

The transplant of a 3.8 stang engine in to ranger is almost done! Will post a lot more on that later. Who if anyone builds headers for the 3.8. Can I chip or cam this engine later? What are the factory hp and tq ratings? Is there an oil fiter relocation kit available? Is the power steering pump from the stang going to be enough for the pickup? What is the process for the removal of the air pump while continuing to use the fuel injection? Does anyone have a Hanes manual for an 87 Mustang 3.8l V-6? Losing hope, please help.

I can't help you with your question but I do have a suggestion! I don't know if you knoe this but that engine is known to blow head gaskets every 30K miles. It happened to me a few times just thought I let you know!

Hey,

I'm no 3.8L expert, but have driven a few cars with those. But on your question about hop-ups, the T'bird Super Coupe was a supercharged 3.8L & if all that extra plumbing fit under that hood you have no problem there.

Who knows about the 3.8l?

hey glad to hear its going well for you. autozone hanes manuall 15 bucks. as far as cammin her up a bit there is always someone who makes the parts for it you just have to find it. i have the cougar 3.8 and have yet to blow a gasket so maybe its a problem related to the gasket brand or year specific. i noticed on myne there is a like flange type thing around the front back and exposed side on my heads so that may be why i dont blow any. pls send us lots of pics cause im considering this fat for my 86 b2. if not that ill burn it crash it anything to get rid of it.

Go there. It's a write up about the 3.8, the different styles of 3.8 and the parts you are looking for.
