Ford Windshield

Is it possible to get another original windshield? The one with the F-150 spots at the top? A stupid tornado in the area spawned a hail storm that tossed a golf ball sized chunk of ice through my windshield. That's the only damage (so yes, I'm lucky) but I want an original windshield.

No clue, huh? I've called my insurance company, and they said if I can find one, they will pay for it. I've called 3 glass places, and they say they can't get it. FTEpartsguy, can you get me an original?!?!

I'm on my second windshield. Some of the aftermarket windshields will still have the f150 logo on the top like you want, they're just 100 or so dollars cheaper. My original cracked by slapping the wiper on the window! I got an original replacement from my dealer because it was convienient. It cost me 560$ opposed what I was quoted locally which was 420$.

You can get the original windshield, it is a Carlite w/logo and screened area. In Alabama, installed they are $275.00 from a independent glass dealer.

i'm on my second too. before i read on these forums not to go with safelite, i had an appointment with them. it was said that they used inferior windshields and they didnt have the F150 logo on top. well, the guy came over and what do you know, he was toting a CARLITE windshield with the F150 logo on top AND the tint bar across the top edge (somehting i didnt have originally). I paid $400, my USAA deductible was $500. i couldn't be happier with them.

I know this is a little off subject but still deals with the Windshield. I noticed this winter that I had frost/ice on the inside of my windshield on the passenger side. Any clue why that would happen? I know my dad's 07 F-150 had a bad seal around the windshield and he could feel and hear the wind coming in from the windshield but I don't have any of that.

Second Windshield - Whistling??

I am on my second one as well... a small chip on the front "grew" because I didn't leave any of my windows cracked open a bit... so it cracked to the edge... Giant Glass replaced it with a Factory Ford / Carlite windshield... I had the windshield replaced at their shop, not the parking lot at work!

My problem is... with all the windows up, the Windshield seems to "Whistle" over by the passenger side now... Does that mean they didn't get a good seal?

definetly yes
I got a new windshield for my 06 mustang with the factory horse in black by the rearview and the ford logo on the bottom.

Contact your dealer and ask them who they go through for windshield replacement then call them

if we order from Ford, Mygrant Glass delivers it the next day. Most windshields/windows are made by Carlite for Ford

I went through Safelite to get my replacement...
I wouldn't think twice about using them for a 3rd or 4th vehicle (they replaced one in my "project vehicle"-prior to my truck).

...Actually it was my insurance company since SC has "free" windshield replacement w/full coverage. I just asked to have my original Carlite with the Ford sunscreen center to be put back in- and had my appt. set-up the next day. I also requested Safelite from my Ins. Co. and it just so happened to be thier "preferred provider" in my area.
