A friend of mine has this chip - Torq-Line Power Chip from U.S.Gear model # TPC-9604. It was in his 96 F250 Diesel. I have a 97 F350 and was wondering if I can use it? According to the US Gear website there are different chips for each year. I plan on calling them Monday, but i thought I'd check the opinion of the forums. What differences are there from a 96 to a 97 that would warrant a year specific chip?

 

i dont think there are any differences to make a different chip for. but i would wait for some one elses opinion.

 

I would imagine that they would be the same. There are only a few slight differences if any between the 96 and 97. Call US Gear and they will let you know for sure.

 

A chip only works in its DPC Family.
Its not just a question of diesel 96 and 97.
Auto/Manual trans and cali make a difference.
