Cylinder Head Question

what are the STOCK brass tubes on the last rocker stand
called and what do they do?
here's a little tidbit
found casting numbers again in little teardrop
shaped cavity on block surface side of head

Rocker assembly overflow tubes. Dribbles down head to block valley and timing chain on one end, the other goes to dist. gear area.
