black out mods..... 56k warning
i been doin some black out mods on my truck
i have seen some other trucks done this way and they turned
out sharp so i did mine
i started by painting the steps black
then exhaust
then badges

today i did the red inlays
and rear inlays and overlay
this was a cheap and fun project
many more to come

There is a product by VHT you may want to look into, call Niteshades. It's a translucent spray paint, primarily used to darken tail lights.

I agree it looks cool, wish somebody'd post pix of mods like that to an 80-86
variant (so I can get some ideas for what I might done one day).

I did that to the chrome fender lip trims and the chrome stripe in my side moldings on my 89 and it looked much better.
If you just want to experiment, black vinyl electrical tape is semi-gloss and can be peeled off if you don't like it. 3m makes a black out tape that is pretty much the same as electrical tape.
