are you guys crazy 8 to 9 mpg in town and 12 on the highway?thats just crazy you must all have alot of money to burn.im guess none of you use them as daily drivers.
It's all I got, so I try to keep my foot out of it........
Still cheaper than a loan payment, higher insurance and taxes.

I got 2 460's, a built 400 and a 360...I figure with all 4 of them I get better gas mileage than a civic. With all 4 of mine avg mpg's added up I get right around 42 mpg's. It's all about the love of these machines.

I see that most of you are getting 12 -13 mpg and it sounds like most of you guys have larger trucks how good do you think a f150 with a 460 would get? I havent taken mine out on the road yet but around town I dont even have to put my foot on it to get her out of the light leaving every one else thinking "damn that ol truck can move" i'm guessing seeing how the engine doesn't hardly have to work to move her I think it should be getting around 14 t0 16 =)

I drive my truck daily in the winter. Need a 4X4 in Mn. I usually get aroung 10 mpg. I only live 8 miles from work so its not a big deal. I pulled my 73 tbird with cargo, about 10,ooo lbs from Iowa to Maryland in the 90's and got 9 mpg. So it doesn't make much difference from loaded and not loaded. Definetely awesome winter truck in mn.
how many miles to the gallon are you guys getting with your 460's?and what grade gas to you use 87 89 or 93?
As another reply stated that he has never drove his Truck enough to determine the MPG, nor have I. I do have an After Market MSD ignition System that, amoung other issues is causing "Havoc" as I called MSD Technical Support and the Technician was quite surprised when I provided the symptoms. A previous inexperienced owner installed the MSD and did not know how to wire it correctly so I have an almost new Stock Distributor with New Plug wires and I can obtain it for $35 so I will replace the MSD which should provide a considerable difference. There are other minor differences, primarily wiring issues and more than likely some Vacuum Leaks so one step at a time.
I am going to Sell the truck and just purchase another Ford. My current truck is in good to excellent condition it is just I have other priorities so it would be best for me to sell it and purchase another. Fortunately the Truck will recoup the initial cost plus the new parts that have been installed.

Sorry just had to respond to this one. on 112 octane I get a hand calculated 11 gallons to the mile.
Now that is making the most out of your fuel . I figure by the time I start it, drive to the staging lanes, wait, do the burn out, stage, run a 1/4 mile and return to the pits I have used right at a gallon. So it might not be quite a mile.

We bought 50 gallons about three months ago from a local distributor. I had never heard of 111, only 110 and 112 but it is advertised as 111.
