Hello everybody looking a a few trucks online. I am looking for a big truck to pull heavy loads. I saw the International Durastar truck with the 6.4L (Maxxforce 7) engine I was wondering if anyone new if this was the same engine as the powerstroke 6.4L I know international built the powerstroke but i am cocern if it is the same engine it is rated at 300hp and and 660 torque. Just looking for information thanks.

 

Same basic engine with some changes in components and a carbon graphite engine block. Another change is the EGR cooler.

 

yes i notice that i guess what i am trying to figure out is, will the same upgrade parts work on both engines or do they have different bolt patterns

 

i think the maxxforce 7 has a single turbo

 

The Maxxforce 7 is advertised as a dual sequential turbocharged diesel

 

I would imagine some parts will be interchangeable but you would have to get with them beforehand.

I would not just blindly order parts.

I recall one of the Ford 6.4 forums (forget which one) had a Ford-International part interchange guide that listed the International part numbers for parts that were the same between the engines. I believe much of the external components are different, and I'm not sure if the PCM is as well, I suspect it is. If the PCM is different, then none of the tuners will work.
