ALOT of TIME.......oh and MONEY TOO....... Somedays, I wish I didn't go the distance like I am on the expense part of it. But, It should be real nice when it's done. And on that note.....I like your Idea. I have it on my "to do" list when it's done. I'm all about a road trip.
BTW, where are you from Kenny??? My hometown is Spalding and I have a sister in Columbus.

Afternoon everyone...
Funny you should say "mess" Doug. I decided it was a nice enough day to change the oil in my car. The Five Hundred is so easy to do an oil change on, I was done in about 20 minutes. Done until I back it off the ramps and found oil spraying everywhere! Unfortunately, I didn't come across an undiscovered oil field in my parking lot, the oil was spewing out from around the filter. What a mess.
Turns out the gasket from the old filter had stuck on the mount, and since it was facing away from me I never noticed. The old filter was top down on the drain pan, so I never missed that O-ring. It seemed fine putting the new filter on, but 2 rubber O-rings do not make a tight seal!
So, back to Walmart, more oil and another filter just in case... also some oil spill cleanup sand. All of that to save a few bucks by doing it myself. Sometimes I wonder if the savings are worth it. I did learn how much oil pressure the 3.0 Duratec has, it pumped out 4 quarts in about 45 seconds!
I am going to sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon... I'm not touching anything mechanical the rest of the weekend!
