Forget the tail pipe, the SS tip, how about just dumps?

Ok, 08' F-150 5.4L, 50 series "Delta Flow" muffler with stock pipes, what if I sawed the tail pipe off right after the outlet exit and before the rear axle would this be a bit louder? Would it be alot dirtier underneath my truck with the exhaust exiting there? How much pipe should I leave after the outlet 3-5" inches, should I get a turn down tip also? Is this a good idea to do with the 50 series DF , moneys tight can't just get another muffler or exhaust set-up. Advice please thanks.

Careful with dumping the exhaust as you can really heat up the differential with dumps
