exhaust turn down under bed?

I was thinking about re-doing my exhaust because I do not like how the tail pipe exists (looks wise) so I got to thinking why not just hack off the tail pipe after the muffler then I would not have to worry about the tail pipe exit at all or the cost of the pricey flashy tips.. Are there any cons to doing this? Just thinking outlouad here, would it cause excess condensation under the bed causing pre-mature rust?? That about the only thing that I could think of problem wise? I guess the exhaust pipe may be pointed at the axle as well, but other than a rusting problem I dont forsee any issues..

Makes the underside of the truck very dirty from the soot. Some people complain over time that the drone gets really annoying inside the cab.

You may get the fumes coming back into your rear window if you have one that opens with it that short. And at idle, you will definitely get fumes into the cab. You'd be better off running a short pipe out of the muffler and have it come out the side right in front of the tire.

Soot won't be problem because the V10 is very clean. The exhaust fumes are not real stinky either thanks to the OE cats. You'll probably get drone and the exhaust probably sound a little weird. The stock exhaust on your 05' is actually pretty good. The muffler is a little restrictive but it should have a 3.5" tailpipe. I'd buy a nice exhaust tip and done. Another option would be to take the truck to an exhaust shop and have the tailpipe bent slightly to an angle more to your liking.
