Question axle change?

I have a 52 f3 and I am looking into swapping the rear axle with one from a 70's f250 to be able to drive faster than 55 mph. I have eight lugs. Will the f250 axle match? If not can I put my drum setup on the f250 axle? I'm a machinist and welder by trade so fabricating parts isn't a problem.

A pre-'73 axle should fit. Contact Irondragon, he installed one in his '51 stretch project. You can ask him any question you may have.

You could put a thread up titled "Paging Irondragon-need help"

Instead of starting another thread go to this thread and post a message, I'm sure Jon will get a notice that there's a new reply to a thread he contributed to. This thread also deals with your question:
