Barrett-Jackson down nearly a $20 million dollars

Sales results were down nearly a $20 million dollars but this year`s sales of 1271 vehicles still brought in nearly $112 million dollars: http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/article...tsdale_Option/

wow... wish i could afford to lose 20 mil... somehow i'm not entirely saddened. seems like some of the cars there go for way more than their worth anyway...

Back ''in the day'' it took alot longer to save up the 2 G`s, back then a decent running beater could be bought for less under $200.

yes, true enough. "back in the day" the average job didn't pay 15.00/hr. i think if you do some comparisons its probably the same situation just escalated. you made 2.50/hour, bought a new 'stang for 3500.00. now you're making 25.00/h, paying 35000 for the car.

Well I have always thought those vehicles that sell on that show have been way overpriced. I dont really feel sorry for the losses. Most people that a vehicle probably make a ton of money on their car even with the losses.

Most are totally over priced on BJ, nothing to connect with the real world of the average working stiff.....A few years back a 50`s GM bus sold for over 4 mill, totally insane for something I thought was really fuggly, useless and a waste of paint!

4 million for a bus. There must have been something special about it for that price.

Your right Dustin, to me cars back then were alot neater and seemed cheaper compared to now. I bought a decent 71 Torino Cobra/429 driver for $350, sweet ride!

Seems to me the only thing BJ has done is drive up the price of rusty old vehicles.
