i went straight to the plug. fourth wire on the plug, its on the pass. side of trans. ran wire over tranny, and along with the loom and up and through the fire wall. easy. but, mine wont stall empty, i tried lol. but, i know it works, cause i got it on a slight hill in first gear, and flipped switch and it began to pull itself
So, does this give you a mpg increase? What is the risk if you fail to unlock before you try to stop?
ALSO above what other people sais, say that your running an NAW6 PCM, like my old one did, this waits untill RIGHT BEFORE OD to lock the T/C. This means that crusing ob back-roads and such where the speed limit is say 35 (and your prob doing 40-45) you can hit the T/C lock to get an extra gear (although no not really you just lock the tc and bring the RPM's down) so yes... if used correctly you COULD possible see an increase in MPG... The TS chip i got took my PCM from NAW6 to TDE1, which has a different shift logic. It locks the TC at 35 and keeps it locked till back under 25, so i only use the tc lock is i'm fooling around or doing diagnostics.
Truck will stall if you forget to unlock as stated before
i sat on an up hill grade in drive and flipped it and it began pulling itself. and, i was empty and slowed to turn in my drive and stopped before i did and it didnt stall
Well thats one heck a built trans!! Either you torque converter clutch or your trans is slipping BAD!! With the truck in drive, foot on the brake with the truck moving no where you engine should stall with the TC clutch locked!! Hope you didn't pay much for that trans!
i am sure i got the right wire....didnt i? 12 prong plug on Pass. side of trans i went to the 4th wire, it was purple with yellow, i'm sure. it was the only wire even close to purple with yellow. there were 6 wires long, 2 rows of them
