Block & Head casting numbers
I have an engine that was taken out of a 1978 Ford F250 van. The Van was supposed to have a 460 in it, but once I got the engine out I am sure it is not. I cannot seem to identify the engine using casting numbers can anyone help? Block D1AE-A3C, Head D3AE-2GB or D3AE-2G8 not sure if last digit is B or 8.

You'll have to check the crank casting to see if it's a 351M or a 400 for sure but the block & heads look to be from a 71-74 400.
