1973 460

i have a 1973 460 in what i believe is a 79 F-250 (frankenstien) and it has a 3 spd tranny could it be something other than a C-6?

ok thank you guess i need to put in a front pump seal. i have another c-6 in a 79 F-150. wth a 351 i gess i should rebuild it and then put it in there

as long as it is a 351m motor and not a 351 windsor motor. the 351m/400 shared the same bolt pattern as the 429/460 while the 351 winsdor is different.

does anyone know the firing order for this motor and which direction dist.rotatoin is?

Firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
Rotation is counterclockwise

thanks a bunch on that firing order and rotation. seems to have an extremely hot exhaust temp shortly after start up. i think timing is retarded too far may be running too rich too

quick question

I know this thread has been here a while but if you get it I have a question for ya.
I have a 1973 460 4bbl and I have the same problem, hot and seems like it burns rich. I was just wondering what you did to fix the problem thanks.
