I have not checked the mileage on mine as of yet.
But I had to park it and drive the family car for awhile.
was putting atleast $8.00 of fuel (premium)every other day
to get back and forth to work. (30mile drive round trip).

Not comparing apples to apples, but my 94 F250 4x4 4.10 or is it 4.56 gears? supercab gets 11-12 mpg freeway cruising. Of course that is a stock fuel injected engine etc, which should help mileage, but the supercab 250 is really heavy(almost 8,000 with passengers) and the 4x4 setup should hurt too.
Towing a 30 foot 8,000 pound dry weight trailer, I get maybe 9mpg.
FWIW,

Ouch! That hurt! I am new to Fords, since I recently discovered they have a large bore and short stroke. But I still like Chevy. However, I have to admit, my 69 GMC is parked at my friends house about 30 miles away with a twisted capless rod, 2 cracked pistens, a shattered cam and a chunck taken out of a cylinder.

My Carbureted 460 gets a big time 14 MPG......on the highway....in town......8 if I'm lucky. However, that's with a 2 ton car. I have an FMX behind it and 2.42 gears. That's where the highway cruising comes in....Yeah Baby!!

11mpg sounds pretty good! I get around 14-16mpg,17 if I stay below 75, in my '72 Tbird w '71 PI motor. It has a pertronix ignitor, Accel 300+ igniton and wires, K&N Filter in the Ramair Box and Edelbrock 800EPS carb all flowing thru a set of hooker super comps and Afterburner mufflers. C-6 tranny w TCI shift kit and 3.08 gears from a Police LTD with disc brakes. All the mods make the engine more efficient and more POWERFUL!

'87 F350 Crew Cab, 4X4, 460 ZF-5, 3.55 gears, 750CFM Motocraft/Holley Carb. Highway mileage, 13-15 lightly loaded. Towing 7000 GVW trailer loaded heavy, with light load on truck. 9MPG. K&N filter/synthetic tras fluid/headman headers/platinum plugs. I noticed a gain in mpg from 8 to 9 when towing after putting the headers on. Around town and hills and valleys I average between 10 and 12 mpg.

I was getting between 13 and 14 miles/gallon in my Galaxie...
approx 5000 lbs, carburated, 9:1 comp, 218/228@.509/.509 SSI cam, and thats in upcountry.. I've only had it on the freeway once, and I got better than 16 miles/gallon on premium.. It's all in the tuning, my friends!!!
Still, 11 m/g aint bad atall... ON the strip I get 2.2 miles/gallon Have fun, y'all...

11 is pretty darn good. sounds like the motor is in pretty good tune. Like Proud Owner says, "it's all in the tune". I tuned mine to run way lean, it even barely idles...and with the 880 carb and weiand intake and healthy cam it still gets around 14 mph on the highway. In the city it gets around 8 or 9, mostly because I have a road rage problem....
