Ford working on F-150 "Raptor"

The report claims that Ford is working on a derivative of the all-new F-150 pick-up internally known as "Raptor". The pumped-up version of the popular truck is said to feature a long-travel suspension (developed with Fox Racing), 35-inch tires, and – wait for it – a possibly turbocharged version of the upcoming Boss V8. Essentially a Baja 1000 or Dakar racing truck available to the public, the Raptor would be capable of covering rough terrain at high speeds, and also feature distinctive bodywork wider and lower than a conventional F-150. Word of the Boss V8 finding its way into an F-150 has also led to speculation that Ford is preparing a new Lightning, but the Raptor seems much, much cooler. If given the green light, the Raptor could be a year-and-a-half to two years away.

The concept might make me look at an F150 in a few years.

Considering it will cost 7-10K more, it's truly worth it. Considering a Toyota 5.7L cost almost $57,000 grand. F'king ridiculous.

Do you live in Canda?

I ask becuase my Toyota Tundra DC Limited 4X4 with the 5.7L stickered at $42K, and I paid $38K for it and took 0.0% APR on it.

I know vehicle prices in Canda land are artificailly high though.

Then he overpaid by about $15K. What options does his truck/truck he was looking at have? All mine is missing is the NAV.

I have heard of dealer's in California marking up over MSRP, but that is f'n rediculous.

Seriously doubt it will be turbocharged. The new SOHC Boss is more than capable of 400+ hp n/a on pump gas. Only way it'll see a turbo is if it is a new 1/2-ton turbo diesel that Ford is supposed to be bringing to the market.

I think the NAV option was about $2K but came with 20" wheels with street tires, otherwise I would have considered it.

A $15K NAV unit should include a Chaufer.

That's what it is...It's kinda like the onstar or xmradio though, it's only for the first year, you're responsible for the subscription fee from then on out...
