rocker arms??
i want to do a mild upgrade on my engine with a new cam, but that is pretty complicated, plus i heard if i switched to a larger ratio rocker arms it would have the same effect, say from the stock 1.73 to maybe like a 1.8? the problem i am facing is that i can not find any that fit my engine, plus i dont know if i have screw in studs or not. my engine is the stock 460 that came in the truck from the factory, so any help is greatly appreciated.

If the motor is bone stock, then you won't have screw in studs. I believe the last 460 to recieve nice screw in studs was in like 73'. As far as the rocker ratio goes, don't really know. I'm pretty sure you can convert your current rockers to the screw in stud type, but I'm not positive.

rocker arms??
The last regular production 429/460 vehicle to have screw-in studs was the '71. PI engines had them through '72, with 92cc chambers. I've heard that some PI engines had them in '73/74, but with '72 casting numbers.
If you do go to a BB Chevy rocker arm or pedestal conversion for a higher ratio, be certain you check your valve train geometry, especially push rod length.
