Super Duty Trucks- Choice of Smugglers!
I was looking around the internet for anti-theft devices and came across Ravelco and a special link they provided that is quite disturbing overall. In the Houston area, Super Duty trucks are the preferred vehicle of choice by Smugglers because of their off-road capabilites and the high cargo capacities of these trucks. In addition the article states these trucks can easily evade police in the harsh and rough desert terrain. It is good to know that Super Duty Trucks can handle the difficult terrain, but it sucks that smugglers can easily steal our trucks.
When ever I am in the Southwest, I will be sure to have some sort of better anti-theft device than the standard alarm system on my truck.
Here is the link: http://www.ravelco.com/SuperdutyPage.htm
Thanks,

I will talk to my brother tomorrow about this. He is Houston PD working the car theft/ smuggling. We live in Texas... no desert or real rough terrain around Houston, in fact, the biggest problem in that area is swampy terrain, and the SD doesn't do well because of the weight issue. (trust me on that, I know...the hard way!)

I think they stated this in another post a few days ago it is nice to know that the super duties are prefered to dodge and the bow ties. At least I know they are built ford tuff, and they have been throughly tested by criminals.
10 out fo 10 smugglers agree a super duty is there truck(maybe ford can use this in a future sales add)

What ever. I spoke to my brother in law. I know this is going to come as a surprise, but perhaps... the news inflated the problem, which works to the company's advantage. Motor cycles and rice burners are a big commodity there. I know, he is a rookie, he has only been working auto theft for about 18 years.
The sad part is, I got more replies to this b.s. than two requests for help. Glad to know everyone has their priorities.
