P0756 Shift Solenoid - transmission

96 V6 2wd auto

Just got a flashing O/D with cel a few times now.

Code P0756 Shift solenoid B Performance or a Stuck OFF Position.

I did a valve body rebuild a few months ago so I am sort of familiar with the area.

I have a couple questions as follows:

1) Can I just remove the solenoid(s) without having to remove the valve body again?

2) What is a good source for solenoids? dealer?

3) What is the approx cost of solenoid?

Sweet, thanks for that link. Now all I need to know is wether I can just take the solenoid off without removing the valve body again.

Also would this code be thrown because of something else?

I'm not an expert(or close) about trannies but I know with engine stuff the cel code is not always what it is.

So I guess I'm hopeing its just a solenoid and not a total rebuild.

Thanks again

Can the solenoid be removed without taking offf the valve body?

This condition (o/d flashing light) is occuring about 30 minutes into driving the truck. So it appears that it happens once something heats up.

The test on a cold solenoid was within specs when I re-did the valve body so I guess something is changing once hot. This code was not coming on after I redid the valve body. It is coming on now 2 months later.

Is it not shifting also when the od light comes? IF yes can you shift it by hand going
from 1-2-3 no OD at all? Have you checked your VSS just to rule it out? I always
recommend flushing the tranny after a few hundred miles/10-15 hours after opening
up a tranny for any reason especially if it was left open more than a day!! In Florida
the mud dabbers love to fly under vehicles and put their babies into small openings
and I have seen them take up residence within a few hours, Not to mention just dirt
and dust in general getting in there and break in debris should be flushed!!

It shifting but real rough between whatappears 2-3rd and does not seem like its going into overdrive.

The light comes on after things get warmed up about 20 minutes but not every time. Sometimes it doesnt come on.

I have a solenoid and the internal harness I'm going to replace. Just wanted to know how to make sure I'm taking the solenoid out correctly.

Thanks
