I leave it open while at work a lot, but I don't always have time to get on and read or whatever. Depends heavily on what's going on. I actually get on while heading to & from test areas (we have drivers!!) once I get every thing set up. We have like an hour or so each way to where we do a lot of testing, so there's lots of time right there (thanks to Verizon mobile broadband!! )

well guess I'm too much old school but have a couple theories
1-if an employee has time to play on the internet,he or she should be assigned a little more work or employee should go back and check for mistakes or something they missed while hurrying to get through so they could play on the internet
2- if an employer has two or more employees playing on internet he has at least one to many employees
I won't say that I never goofed off, but will say while I was doing it there were things that could have and probly should have been done and that includes the years I was self employed

I am at work right now. I jump on real quick every now and then and then jump right back off. My job is pretty stressful and my boss (the plant manager) is pretty cool as long as my crew is pumping the parts out (which they always do). he realizes how much pressure I am under to keep the line going so he doesn't say much about me jumping on the net every once in a while. Plus, he's a diesel guy too.
